DocLisboa 2010 - Film Festival 14/Oct - 24/Oct

«Travelling to doclisboa to encounter great masters of the truth has become a very pleasant autumn event.» José Manuel López · Cahiers du Cinema

«What makes a good festival? The atmosphere, which has a lot to do with the physical space and the people who receive us. The information we are given -
– the agenda, site, catalogue, the introductions of the guest directors – and of course, the programme. Taking the documentary art form seriously without pretentiousness. And daring to fight to achieve better conditions for documentary, on the national and international level. Doclisboa has all of this!» Tue Steen Müller · Filmkommentaren.dk

Organised in the second half of October by Apordoc, every year DocLisboa presents previews of the best documentaries of the latest season bringing together a series of out of competition programmes, and includes retrospectives of internationally acclaimed filmmakers.
The festival’s master classes are open to the public and free of charge. Informal get togethers with the directors stimulate dialogue between professionals and the public.
During the festival, participants can also attend and take part in the International Co production Forum, Lisbon Docs (pitching), the docbreakfasts for professionals and the daily Happy Hour, Guest meet Guest.

Since its 1st edition in 2007, MOTELx - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival has been an event for fraternizing and discovery, set-up for all those that are permanently looking for new auteurs, new films, new looks into the genre, and new experiences.

This is Lisbon...partying!

Starting next Friday, the 14th of May, Lisbon will be hosting major events under the "Festas de Lisboa" (Lisbon's Parties) umbrella! Expect music, art, street performances - including the very portuguese Fado in Eléctrico 28 (really!) - theatre, art exhibitions, cinema, workshops, public wedings (26 to be precise and live broadcasted on portuguese TV!), more music, and, did I already mention music?

Also included on "Festas de Lisboa" the popular "Arraiais"! Picture grilled sardines on good portuguese bread (yes, that's OUR pizza!) and wine and beer and more Fado and lights and colors and people and laughing and kissing and talking out loud and staying up 'till dawn and more, deep, thrilling, hot kissing (it's easy to find goods alleys in the "old" Lisbon).

Detailed info will be posted the next coming days OR! if you really can't wait, quickly learn portuguese and go to http://www.festasdelisboa.com/!
